Ideally yes, it also gives good opportunity to have a chat about your hair. In the event that schedule is tight, and popping in before hand wold be a trouble then you have the option of signing a simple disclaimer to state your happy to for Chris to go ahead with the colouring service.

Why do some services require a deposit?

We ask for a 20% deposit on longer services that are tricky to fill last minute. It helps keep our private, appointment-only vibe intact. Don’t worry—your deposit goes towards your final bill and stays valid for 3 months.

How do I book an appointment?

The simplest approach is to book online via the website or by downloading the Spaces for Wix app, which conveniently rewards your loyalty points.  You can view real-time availability and select the service you require — no endless back-and-forth. If you prefer to chat first, Chris is available 24/7 on WhatsApp for questions or a quick sanity check before you dive in.

Is your appointment private?

Yes. Dawson Hair & Imaging is a one-chair salon, so your appointment is just you and Chris. No background chatter, no queue of people eyeing your chair, just a proper one-to-one appointment in a calm space.

How much time should you set aside for your appointment?

It depends on the service you’ve booked. The booking app and confirmation will show the timings, and if you’re unsure, message us on WhatsApp before you book. We’ll help you choose the right slot so you’re not squeezing a colour service into your lunch break.

When can you book an appointment?

You can book Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10:00–18:00, Wednesday from 10:00–19:00, and Saturday from 09:00–17:00. We’re appointment-only, so it’s best to check live availability before you plan your day around us.

Do you ever open on Sundays?

If there aren't any other appointments available and only Sunday works for you, we may be able to open up on a Sunday or a Monday for you, upon request.

How much does a Balayage cost?

Balayage pricing depends on your hair’s length, thickness, and the product needed. A full head starts at £60 for short hair and £120 for longer or thicker hair.

Colour correction costs depend on your hair’s condition and the work involved. We’ll give you a quote during your consultation or a guide price on the day—no surprises, just fabulous results!

If you need to move or cancel your appointment, message us on WhatsApp or reply to your booking confirmation as soon as you can. We’ll always do our best to help you reschedule. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice are charged in full.

Absolutely. Photos, screenshots, saved posts, half-remembered ideas — bring them all, or even better, WhatsApp them to Chris ahead of your appointment.  They help Chris understand the look you’re after, and make it much easier to talk through what’ll work for your hair rather than just the internet’s best intentions.

You’ll get a calm, one-to-one appointment in our private Brighton studio. We’ll talk through your hair history, what you want to achieve, and what will actually work for your hair — not just what looks good on Pinterest. If colour is involved, we’ll check whether you need a skin sensitivity test first. You can relax; we’ll handle the details.

Yes — and we only suggest products we’d happily use ourselves. You can shop Chris’s curated range online, including K18, Wella Professionals, and colour-safe treatments, so your hair doesn’t lose the plot between appointments.

Yes — the products you see online are available UK-wide. Just place your order through the site and choose your delivery option at checkout. No need to make the trek to Brighton unless you fancy it.
